Saints vs. Vikings Wear Your Fleur de Lis With Pride

It's a huge day for New Orleans and a great day to be a Saints Fan! As our team prepares to play the Vikings tonight, we know everyone will be sporting some black and gold fleur de lis fashion!

Here are some of the events happening around New Orleans today:

In Champions Square, events will begin at 3pm. Enjoy watching a huge screen featuring hightlights from the 2009 season and the Superbowl game. At 4:30, the Lombardi trophy will be displayed by team owner Tom Benson. At 6: 30, the Bucktown Allstars will take the stage. This new tailgating spot will be fun for everyone, and a great place to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the day.

The NFL has teamed up with Blaine Kern Studios to produce a Mardi Gras-style parade will that start at 5 pm on Esplanade at the River, then go up Decatur past the St. Louis Cathedral, back to North Peters, across Canal and Poydras streets to Tchoupitoulas, where it will disband. The parade, although small by New Orleans Mardi Gras standards, should be a lot of fun with football players, local chefs and musicians and some NBC series stars.

In Jackson Square, the concert will begin at 6:30 featuring Taylor Swift and The Dave Matthews Band. This will be a huge event and offers fans an opportunity to enjoy a free show if they are not lucky enough to have tickets to the game.

We know everyone will be sporting their fleur de lis attire........wear it proudly!

We have even included a shopping coupon for the Who Dat Nation. Use code SAINTS2010 during checkout and get 15% off your entire order now until 9/12/10.

Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city as the Saints beat the Vikings tonight................Two Dat!!!!!

The Fleur de Lis and a Black and Gold Superbowl

"Can you imagine what the city of New Orleans will be like if the Saints win the Super Bowl?" I would have to be in New Orleans, and no other place would do!”

From Facebook to Twitter, Bourbon Street and all, these days there is only one subject on everybody’s mind: Will the New Orleans Saints with an impressive 8-0 record “Go All The Way” and finally bring home to the Crescent City, the coveted Vice Lombardi Trophy! The pros and cons of the possibilities of this impending success are now not only a lively subject of discussion, but have also seized the attention of Las Vegas odds makers! Win or not, the anticipation level is growing by the day, and all are looking forward to this being the year the Super Bowl hits New Orleans!

And why not? Admitted into the NFL on November 1, 1966 which by the way was the same day as the Roman Catholic Holiday called the “All Saints day”, from which they hold their name, this New Orleans expansion team has had its fair share of ups and downs throughout their sportive years. Playing for more than a decade before managing to finish a season with a .500 record, and two more decades to finally claim their first successful years in 1987 and 1992, when the team made the playoffs four times and had winning records in the non playoff seasons! In the year 2000 the Saints were still going strong and defeated the then-defending Super Bowl champion the St. Louis Rams for the teams first playoff win!

So is this the year when they will “Go All The Way?” The Black and Gold Super Bowl party would be just the thing the beautiful city of New Orleans needs considering the devastation that Hurricane Katrina brought to all and the Louisiana superdome in 2005. After a $185 million renovation of the historic Louisiana Superdome, and the return of the team for the 2006 season, New Orleanians are more than ready to call in the victory for the Saints as for the first time in this franchise history, they are one of only two undefeated teams leading the NFC South!

With tickets to the games being sold out for the second year in a row, and expectations being high, it is without a doubt the most anticipated season of the year. Sporting their teams colors of Black and Gold which symbolized both Mecom’s and New Orleans’ strong ties to the oil (‘black gold”) industry, the Saints seems to be firmly on their way to bringing home a much needed triumph for the Super Bowl XLIV!.

With the football season fast approaching its deciding point and Super Bowl Sunday right around the corner, it’s without doubt that most of us do dare to dream even after being generally told otherwise in these past 42 years. Regardless of the past record of this well seasoned football team, the excitement and anticipation is great for fans of all ages, and the beliefs high that The Saints will finally bring home the greatly coveted Super Bowl grand finale in their name!

Get your fleur de lis gear here for the big games at Fleurdelisfashions.com! We wonder how the fleur de lis will look on a Superbowl Ring!!!

The new Fleur de.lir.i.ous!

We wanted to let everyone know about our new blog design! We have been working at expressing the history of New Orleans along with our crazy love for the fleur de lis!

As you can see, the new design came out fabulous! We are absolutely thrilled at how the design really shows off the French Quarter. Another great thing about we are really excited about is how beautiful the St. Louis Cathedral looks in the header!

Since being delirious about the fleur de lis is our name, you will notice the border that matches our website, Fleur De Lis Fashions.Com. It is a beautiful display of our love for the royal symbol.

The best part of the new design includes our hip New Orleans lady who is constantly thinking about the fleur de lis symbol. We just love the way she is decked out in our fleur de lis jewelry as well!

We hope that you will enjoy this new look for our blog!

Plus we have more great news! You can now subscribe to fleur de.lir.i.ous by feed. We are live on feedburner and you can get our feed right to your email. If you haven't susbcribed as a reader, please do so now!

As always, we thank you for visiting with us. We would love to hear from you about our new look!

Let the Purple and Gold Roll!

If you are anywhere around New Orleans today, all you will see is Lsu Purple and Gold. You may also see a little bit of red, but we are hardly noticing that. Yes, today is the big game that fans have been waiting for all season long.

Just to show you how many people have been enjoying the French Quarter festivities, you can check out this video of a parade that rolled down Bourbon Street last night by clicking here.

Since everyone wants to join in on the activities of the day, many businesses in the downtown area will be closing early to get a head start on the celebrations.

We want to wish the LSU Tigers all the best of luck as they head into the big game tonight! The entire state will be pulling for you guys. If you would like to see more stats and point spreads for the game, you can check those out here.

And we can't go without mentioning the ladies of LSU as well. Some time ago, we mentioned the Golden Girls wearing their uniforms with the fleur de lis on them. We finally found some of those beautiful pictures, one is courtesy of their website.

Love those fleur-de-lis!!! Have a great night tonight ladies!

We hope everyone enjoys themselves in New Orleans today.

We appreciate you visiting our town.

Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!
